I had the pleasure of being invited to provide the evening Wedding entertainment for Thomas and Connie at the prestigious Oaklands Hotel in Norwich on Saturday the 14th of March 2015.
It is surprising how quick time flies as Connie had booked me over 12 months in advance after attending one of her close friends party at which i provided the Disco entertainment and claimed that i was the exactly the type of party Dj that both she and Thomas required for their special day...(The pressure was on!)
The Bride and Groom had organized a red, white and blue colour scheme for the London themed Wedding Breakfast which had been coordinated by the team at the Oaklands Hotel, and the room looked amazing!
After liasing with the Hotel i arrived at 9.00am to set up our White elegance wedding dj booth and appropriate lighting fixtures for the venue size, to enhance the show for the occasion and co-ordinate with the room elements of the speaker and lighting stands had added uplighting in Red and Blue to fit in with the theme of the wedding(Pictures can be seen in the Gallery).
Upon my return in the evening the entertainment commenced with gentle back ground music before proceeding to the warm up tracks.
The newly wedded Mr and Mrs Vallis officially started the reception off with there first dance as a married couple to there title tune of "Your still the one" by Shania Twain, Connie looked stunning in her Scarlet Wedding dress and both of them looked over whelmed with love during their first dance.
The second and third song choices were "I Cant help falling in love" by Elvis and "Wonderful tonight" by Eric Clapton to which there family and friends were invited to join them.....and join them they did the dance floor filled to the brim!
Great song choices that were chosen by Connie and Thomas and organized with me in advance of there big day and they certainly hit the spot.
The remainder of the evening consisted of music of all genres from current chart tunes, Classic party, Motown through to rock and roll but most importantly requests on the night.
It was great entertaining such a lovely bunch of people and the added bonus of seeing certain people who i haven't seen in over 30 years, a special thank you goes out to Connie's mother Karen for being a great sport on the evening and owning the dance floor all night, particularly for her performance to her request of Rod Stewart and "Maggie May" .
The evening closed with with all the guests joining the Bride and Groom on the dance floor to their chosen closing songs of "you will never walk alone" and "Oh what a night" which basically summed up the Evening.
i wish both Connie and Thomas all the love and happiness for the future..... lovely people, surrounded by a lovely Family and circle of friends.
