Wow!!!....... What a great evening I had on Saturday the 6th of June 2015 providing the mobile disco entertainment for Amelia's 30th Birthday party at Sprowston sports and Social club.
Amelia booked Starsrtuck Roadshow a few months prior for her parties entertainment needs on the strength of the recommendation given for a experienced DJ from Matthew Cheeseman at the Social club and the competitive pricing that suited her budget, we also kept in touch via text as to allow Amelia to add to her "To playlist" as required.
Upon a early arrival I had the pleasure of meeting Amelia and her family personally and we had a chat about her expectations for the evening and she was quickly reassured and pleased with the equipment set up in terms of lighting and sound equipment enhanced with the modern look of the Lite Console Dj Booth(Photos can be viewed in the Gallery).
A special thanks must go out to Amelia's Dad Richard for giving me prior permission to help myself to the buffet later in the evening as I was in for a long evening starting at 7-30pm and finishing at 1am!
It was a beautlful summers evening and upon the arrival of Amelia's guests the majority chose to take advantage of the sun and take there drinks to the outside terrace area, this left the minority in the function room to enjoy the back ground music and the opportunity for requests before the buffet was opened.... It was time to dive in!!!... (Great sausage rolls...and there were lots of them......
After a short interval we commenced the evening with Richard taking a Father and Daughter dance to Chris de Burghs "Lady in Red", and it must be said Amelia did look stunning in her Red dress (shown in the picture above).
The temperature outside was falling which meant the dance floor was filling due to the fantastic requests given by l the fun loving guests and the great choice of late 90's tunes choosen by Amelia, also mixed with some chart , cheese and a touch of R&B which the girls loved as the drink had kicked in!!
On the approach to midnight it was time for the birthday girl to blow out her candles and cut the cake to a drunken chorus of "Happy Birthday" from her family and friends, following this event I tried something different as everyone was really into the full swing of the party atmosphere and played a tune I havent played in a age .....5ive "If ya getting down!" this totally smashed it and the floor was totally full with everyone reliving their youth and reliving the dance moves!
This genre was carried on to the close of the night digging out the Spice girls, S Club 7 etc, with both the boys and girls keeping the floor filled, the night was closed with Take That and "Never Forget" so it was good night from me watching raised arms and a singalong.
I would like to thank Amelia and her family and friends for making my night just as fun and enjoyable as theres due to the fantastic song requests and hospitality..........plus it is always nice to get applause at the end of the evening!
P.S....... Hope your heads wern't too sore Sunday morning...
